My final exam results were finally released last thursday and it was a bittersweet swansong to my NTU days. Bitter cos I was a bit disappointed that I got a 2nd Class Lower Honours. As I have taken too much for granted and overconfidence/complacency got the better of me, I thought I deserved another classification.
However, I soon began to wake up from my own haughty posture and turned to one that was thankful as visions of my humble beginnings where I had to pray harder than I study to avoid the infamous "tabao" plague, moments when I rejoice at even a 'D' cup grade and my not-so-glorious Yr 1 results where 'D's populated my transcript like termites on damp wood.
Come to think of it, where I am today is nothing short of a miracle. Thank You, Jesus! Thank you, Mom & Dad, Angelia, Rodger & Pauline! Thank you, every carecell member whom I've aquainted with and prayed for me! Thank You, friends in NTU whom I've attended lecture/tutorial/lab/electives/minor with! Thank You, profs and supervisors who impacted my life and broadened my knowledge! F#@k you, profs who killed my passion for some subjects or gave me shitty grades!
Rayzor's Rock-amendation: This angst-filled number by (IMHO, the world's most talented metallers) In Flames, pretty much sums up my uni days. Days where the strongest survive while the weak eat shit and die. Haha... I have to admit I one of the weak ones, but in my own weakness, I found strength from my Lord and my loved ones. So friends, u can choose to stay bitter or get better. Rock on...
